Local Dining Out Report for July 2015

Wednesday 22nd July 2015

Local Dining Out Group Dinner - at The High Corner Inn at Linwood, Ringwood

Every now and again somehow, despite checking as much as possible, you hit the occasional slight problem. After such a marvellous evening last month at the Cliff House Hotel it was bound to be a hard act to follow. Most people were very pleased with the actual venue at The High Corner Inn on Wednesday evening. The dining room was comfortable with plenty of space, tables were nicely laid and the service was good. Despite having to walk a little way to the bar for drinks everyone seemed to manage ok. Several people said how nice the evening had been.

Most people said that they enjoyed their dinner but we did have a few issues with the Ham, Egg and Chips choice. This has been noted for future reference and comments passed to the restaurant. In defence it is very difficult for us to make sure every choice is perfect for all tastes. We do check menus and do a test run on the dining before booking. Our apologies to anyone who was unhappy with their main course.

Our raffle for the evening, was very successful. We have started to receive donations of prizes, which are very welcome. Our thanks to Maureen and Shirley for their donation of prizes. Shirley brought along a lovely tray of fresh redcurrants. Donations of fresh garden produce make a lovely prize to receive and of course these prizes help to keep our raffle costs down securing more for the charity. Our thanks go to everyone who supported this month's raffle as we managed to make £42.75 towards our fund for the Alzheimer's Society which is our chosen charity for July/August.

Our next Local Dining Out evening will be at The Albion Inn at Verwood. We have a totally different menu with new ideas and some old favourites. Again four of us have eaten there recently and we were very pleased with the quality of the food.
