Local Dining Out Group October Dinner

We will be dining at The Fox and Goose in Coombe Bissett, Salisbury


We return to The Fox & Goose which can be found beside the main road in Coombe Bissett just outside Salisbury. It is a Free house and has local and national real ales available, wines from around the world, traditional home-cooked food and an open fire creating a pleasant warm atmosphere.

Local Dining Out Group Monthly Charity Raffle:

On October 18th we will be supporting our local Woodgreen Preschool.

We will donate the proceeds from our raffle to supporting Kirsten Davies who is running the 13.1 miles in the Downton Half Marathon, through Downton, Hale & Woodgreen, then back to Downton on Sunday 26th November 2017.

As the current chair of Woodgreen Preschool it has been a great privilege to see the beautiful Preschool in action and the wonderful staff for the lovely children that attend. Woodgreen as a community benefits so much from the laughter and fun the children and their families bring to the village.  Long life the preschool in this village, which has been run from Woodgreen village hall for over 40 years :-) As always a charity run preschool needs financial support to be maintained and provide the serive to its community so i wanted to help in a direct manner with a healthy fundraising idea!!

Please support me by sponsoring me for my first (post children) 1/2 marathon at this local sporting event on Sunday 26th November 2017.  Just 13.1 miles between me and success!! This half marathon starts in Downton but follows a course through Hale and Woodgreen and then back to Downton.  Please come out and support me and all the other runners on the day also if you can.





Your ticket for our October 2017 dinner will cost £25.00 per person.
(This includes your travel to the restaurant, a Two Course Dinner and tips for our driver and the restaurant staff)

Booking Cut-Off Time

We need to receive your booking, menu choices and payment by early evening on:
Wednesday 11th October 2017
Please try not to leave it until this date as we may be fully booked.


Tickets will be allocated on a first booked and paid basis.
It may be necessary to return bookings if received after we have sold out. It would be a good idea to enquire first before sending
your booking/payment the nearer we get to the 11th October 2017
(If tickets remain unsold, later bookings may be accepted depending upon how near we are to the 18th October and whether the restaurant will
accept more bookings.)

IMPORTANT: We cannot guarantee any refunds for late cancellations, after the 11th October, unless we have diners on a waiting list
who will not only take the place but also the menu choices you made.

Main Course:

[LAMB] Lamb Casserole, tender pieces of Lamb in a Red Wine and Rosemary gravy, served with creamy mash potato and vegetables .

[PORK] Pork Schnitzel – Pork Escalope dusted in a seasoned crumb and served with chips and salad.

[PIE] Chicken & Mushroom Pie – a short crust pastry pie with tender pieces of chicken and mushrooms in a white sauce, served with new potatoes, vegetables and gravy.

[HADDOCK] Haddock fillet in a crispy batter served with chips, salad garnish and garden peas.

Beef Curry, served with rice, poppadum and mango chutney.

Mushroom and Dolce Latte Risotto – Arborio rice, wild mushrooms, spinach and onions in a creamy risotto, complimented with Dolce Latte Cheese, served with a side salad. [V]


[CHEESECAKE] Strawberry Cheesecake – served with Cream

[CRUMBLE] Apple and Blackberry Crumble – served with Custard. 

Hot Chocolate Fudge Cake – served with Ice Cream.

[ICECREAM] Two Large scoops of Ice Cream – Vanilla and Chocolate

Fresh Fruit Salad – served with Cream.

[CHEESE/BISC] Cheese & Biscuits - Cheddar, Brie & Stilton, with a selection of Biscuits.
