Local Dining Out Group Event Notification

Join us for our next Local Dining Out Evening at The Trusty Servant, Minstead, near Cadnam
on Wednesday
24th August 2016

Location:   The Trusty Servant at Minstead, near Cadnam
We're off in the opposite direction in August, heading down further into the New Forest near Cadnam to The Trusty Servant at Minstead. It is in the centre of the quintessential country village overlooking the green, with its own stocks and memorial. This Country Pub with great freshly prepared, home cooked food, local real ales and very large garden, welcomes walkers, cyclists, children, dogs and coach parties. Dining:   Restaurant
The dining area at The Trusty Servant Inn is quietly tucked away to one end of an open planned bar area. The interior is everything you would expect from a country pub. With many local pictures adorning the walls, and hops across the beams it has a cosy welcoming feel. Tables are laid out to avoid any feeling of overcrowding. You would be advised to go and choose your table before heading to the bar. We regret we cannot guarantee seating position, table size or the number of seats available together.

Herrington's Coach Door to Door
We have arranged pick up points as near as possible to where you live, more can be added. Our coach will be from Herrington's Coaches. Our first pick up point is at The Ship in Fordingbridge. Then stops can be arranged at Burgate and Breamore. Our coach will drive to Woodgreen picking up as it enters the village, diverting up the High Street and back to the Horse & Groom. A pickup can be organised at Woodgreen Shop if required. It then goes up to Woodgreen Common & on to Hale and Woodfalls with further pickups en route. Finally it will go on to Morgan's Vale and then Downton.
We may add some more pickup points when and if new members of our Local Dining Out Group.


Drinks:   Buy your drinks at the bar on arrival
When you have chosen your seats at your table your next stop will probably be the bar, which you pass as you enter the building, central in the building. Beer - Flack's Double Drop (3.7%) from the Romsey brewer and Doom Bar (4.3% ABV) there are also guest beers which might include Bowmans Wallops Wood (4%) from Droxford, Southampton and Ringwood Fortynineer from Ringwood Brewery. There is a WINE LIST available with White, Rose and Red by the glass, carafe or the bottle. In addition to this thre will be Soft Drinks, Spirits, Water and anything else you might require to be able to enjoy your evening.

Our ever changing menu choices! This month we have Duck, Salmon, Chicken, Burger and two different Pies - Steak & Ale or Mushroom, as main course choices. Our desserts include a lovely Raspberry Cheesecake with Ice Cream, Fresh Strawberries & Cream, Cheese & Biscuits with trimmings, Bread & Butter Pudding with Custard, Chocolate Brownie & Ice Cream, Sticky Toffee Pudding and Cream. Charity Raffle
We continue to raise money for the Shelter Box charity which supports emergency aid to places in the World which have been suddenly struck by natural disaster. You can read more about this on their website. The idea and target is for us to raise £590 for a 'New Start' box. We have now raised a total of £475.11 in 6 months towards our target. Your ticket for our August 2016 dinner will cost £24.00 per person covering your two course dinner and the travel by coach.

Booking Cut-Off Time

We need to receive your booking, menu choices and payment by early evening on:
Wednesday 17th August 2016
Please try not to leave it until this date as we may be fully booked.

Tickets

We are limited to only just over 30 tickets for this restaurant and tickets will be allocated on a first come basis.
Later bookings may be accepted depending upon how near we are to the 24th.
IMPORTANT: We cannot guarantee any refunds for late cancellations, after the 17th August, unless we have diners on a waiting list
who will not only take the place but also the menu choices you made.

Main Course:
[DUCK] Confit of Duck served on Spiced Chilli Vegetable Noodles.

[SALMON] Grilled Dame of Salmon (poached salmon steak) Roast Vine Tomato, New Potatoes and Salad.

[STEAK & ALE] Homemade Steak & Ale Pie with Fresh Market Vegetables and New Potatoes.

[CHICKEN] Half, Roasted Lemon & Garlic Chicken infused with Thyme, with Chunky Chips, Salad and a Pan Jus.

[BURGER] Halloumi Burger – Grilled Halloumi Aubergine, Beef Tomato, with Basil Pesto. [V]

[MUSHROOM] Mushroom, Spinach and Potato Pie served with Peas and Gravy.

Travel By Car:
If you cannot travel by coach but would like to join us at The Ship Inn, you are welcome to use your own car to get there.
However, your ticket price will remain the same, as if using the coach, unless we sell all the coach tickets.
