Join us for our next Local Dining Out Evening

at The Fox and Goose at Coombe Bissett
on Wednesday 28th October

Location: .   The Fox and Goose, Coombe Bissett
Located just outside of Salisbury on the main A354 road to Blandford, the Fox & Goose, dating back to the mid nineteenth century, has recently had a make over. It has a large car park and a nice garden. Several people in our group have asked us to visit this restaurant. We will be there in no time after we leave Downton.

Dining: .   Restaurant
We will be dining in one end of the main room at the Fox & Goose. The layout of the premises is quite open plan but our group should take over a reasonable part of the area. Tables will be laid out to allow us to dine in groups as we have become used to. Our location is comfortably near to the bar and the toilets.

Travel: .  

Herrington's Coach Door to Door
We have arranged pick up points as near as possible where you live, more points can be added. Our coach will be from Herrington's Coaches, the coach size will depend upon ticket sales. Our first pick up point is in Sandleheath then through to
Downton. (picture is not of the exact coach expected)


Drinks: .   Buy your drinks at the bar on arrival
The Fox & Goose is a Free House offering an excellent range of local and national Real Ales. The bar is strategically placed as you enter the main room of the pub. Wine, cider, spirits and soft drinks are available, also tea/coffee later on in the evening. Please remember to pay for your drinks as you go during the evening.

Menu Choices
Once again we have agreed a varied and interesting menu for our dining at the Fox and Goose. We have Steak & Mushroom Pie, Lamb Curry and a different Vegechoice this month. Pavolova and a Fresh Fruit Salad are new desserts, plus regular favourites of Cheesecake and Cheese/Biscuits. Tea and Coffee will be available for you to buy after your Dessert.

Raffle:  

Charity Raffle
Our raffle continues through October in aid of the British Heart Foundation and we hope once again to raise much needed funds for this good cause. Profits from our previous raffles have gone to Cancer Charities, Motor Neurone Disease Association, Diabetes UK and the Alzheimer's Society. Please help us if you feel you can donate a prize for our raffles in the future.

Price:

Your ticket for our October 2015 dinner will cost £22.00 per person covering your two course dinner and the travel by coach.

[CHICKEN] Chicken Chasseur, Chicken Breast with mushrooms in a tomato, white wine & tarragon sauce, new potatoes & vegetables.


[FISH/CHIPS] Haddock fillet in a crispy batter, served with chips, salad garnish and garden peas.

[PIE] Steak & Mushroom, short crust pastry pie with tender pieces of beef & mushrooms in rich gravy, new potatoes and vegetables.

[CURRY] Lamb Curry - served with Rice, Poppadum and Mango Chutney

[VEGECHOICE] Courgette, Cauliflower and Mushroom Bake, served with a creamy white sauce and side salad [V]

[GAMMON] Gammon Steak served with pineapple, chips, peas and grilled tomato.

CHEESE/BISC] Cheese & Biscuits Cheddar, Brie and Stilton served with a selection of biscuits.

[PAVLOVA] Strawberry Pavlova - meringue base with strawberries and cream

[CRUMBLE] Apple & Blackberry Crumble - served with Custard


[FRUIT] Fresh fruit salad, served with cream.

[ICE CREAM] 2 scoops of Ice Cream - vanilla and chocolate.

[CHEESECAKE] Lemon Cheesecake, served with Ice Cream.
