Join us for our next Local Dining Out Evening

at The Albion Inn at Verwood, Dorset
on Wednesday 26th August

Wednesday 26th August 2015
About The Albion Inn, Verwood

"Freshly repainted and boasting brimming hanging baskets in the summer, a large play area and delightful beer garden, the recently refurbished Albion Inn is an historic pub that offers a blend of traditional appeal and modern amenities.

I visited on a balmy evening and was treated to a starter of chicken liver paté with dainty triangular toast, followed by local lobster, Jersey Royal potatoes and salad with a subtle garlic sauce for the main course. My friend, meanwhile, couldn’t get enough of her impeccable classic prawn and melon pearl cocktail, which proved the perfect introduction to a main course of succulent salmon fillet in a watercress salad with a wholegrain mustard sauce, served with crushed new potatoes. All the dishes were artfully cooked and beautifully presented by new chef David Williams, and the portions were so generous that we weren’t sure we would manage desserts. Our fears were quickly forgetten when we saw the sweet options. We were rewarded with a succulent lemon sponge pud with warm custard, and a scrumptious caramel and apple pie with ice cream, accompanied by a crisp sauvignon blanc from New Zealand.

We rounded off our faultless feast by admiring the railway-themed decor while sipping herbal teas. Catering for the railway enthusiast and food connoisseur alike, The Albion Inn, with its tastefully renovated surroundings, friendly staff and first-class meals, comes highly recommended."

Location: .   The Albion Inn - Verwood
We visited The Albion towards the end of June this year and had a really nice dinner seated in the Conservatory. At the Albion, part of the local railway line through from Fordingbridge in years past, you can still see the old railway arch preserved in garden. Within easy reach of our local area this restaurant is really worth a visit.

Dining: .   Restaurant
Our group will take over the large Conservatory Dining Area for the evening on the 26th August. As you enter the Albion Inn there is a main bar to the left leading through to the toilets and a smaller bar and adjacent seating area leading into the main dining area. Our tables will be laid out for you to choose where you sit. The Conservatory looks out onto the gardens outside.

Travel: .   Herrington's Coach Door to Door
We have arranged pick up points as near as possible where you live, more points can be added. Our coach will be from Herrington's Coaches, the coach size will depend upon ticket sales. New this month we have added a pickup in Sandleheath (picture is not of the exact coach expected)

Drinks: .   Buy your drinks at the bar on arrival
We will go to the bar area on arrival to buy our drinks. You will find an excellent choice of beers on sale along with a selection of soft drinks. An excellent selection of wines are available by the bottle or different size glasses. Please remember to pay for your drinks as you go through the evening.
