Join us for our next Local Dining Out Evening

at The Silver Plough at Pitton, Salisbury
on Wednesday 25th November

Location: .   The Silver Plough at Pitton, Salisbury
Located just outside of Salisbury, in rural Pitton, south of the main A30 between Firsdown and Farley, the Silver Plough, this fine looking pub started life in the eighteenth century as a farmhouse, originally known as Ivy Clad Farm, it then became an inn after World War II. The management are purveyors of home cooked food and use local suppliers where possible.

Through our local dining out group evenings we are trying to offer different styles and levels of dining each month. We are visiting The Silver Plough, at Pitton, this November which offers you the opportunity to taste some finer dining and ambiance at a very reasonable price. We will be dining in the main function room which is at one end of the main building at the Silver Plough. We feel sure this will be a very good evening.

Herrington's Coach Door to Door
We have arranged pick up points as near as possible to where you live, more can be added. Our coach will be from Herrington's Coaches, the coach size will depend upon ticket sales. Our first pick up point is in Sandleheath then through to
Downton. (picture is not of the exact coach expected)


Drinks: .   Buy your drinks at the bar on arrival
The Silver Plough is a Hall & Woodhouse Public House offering an excellent range of ales. The bar is strategically placed as you enter the main room of the pub. Wine, cider, spirits and soft drinks are available, also tea/coffee later on in the evening. Please remember to pay for your drinks as you go during the evening.

Menu Choices
Once again we have agreed a varied and interesting menu for our dining at the Silver Plough. We have Cornfed Chicken, Hake, Pork, Gammon and two different vegetarian choices this month. For dessert we have favourites of cheesecake (passion fruit this month) pavlova, creme brule, chocolate brownie and more. Tea and Coffee will be available for you to buy after your Dessert. (see menu choices below)


Raffle: .  

Charity Raffle
Our raffle will continue through November & December in aid of the British Heart Foundation and we hope to raise even more much needed funds for this good cause. Profits from our previous raffles have gone to Cancer Charities, Motor Neurone Disease Association, Diabetes UK and the Alzheimer's Society. Please help us if you feel you can donate a prize for our raffles in the future.

Price:

Your ticket for our November 2015 dinner will cost £24.00 per person covering your two course dinner and the travel by coach.

[CHICKEN] Cornfed Chicken Breast sautéed potatoes, chorizo, green beans, balsamic dressing.


[HAKE] Baked Hake, roast new potatoes, confit fennel, herb crust, pesto.

[GAMMON] 10oz Horseshoe Gammon served with, chips, petit pois and fried egg.

[PORK] Pork Belly, spiced tomato, pea, flageolet beans, caramelised apple.

[TAGLIATELLE] Black truffle tagliatelle, wild mushroom cream, parmesan crisp [V]

[TART] Red onion parmesan tart, butternut squash, quinoa, baby watercress. [V]

 Dessert:
[STICKY TOFFEE] Sticky toffee pudding with cream.

[CHEESECAKE] Passion fruit cheesecake.


[PAVLOVA] Pavlova, vanilla Chantilly cream, mixed berry compote.

[BROWNIE] Chocolate brownie with cream.

[CREME BRULE] Creme Brule.

[ROULADE] Raspberry & clotted cream roulade, honey toasted cashew nuts.


If you would like a cup of Tea or Coffee after your dessert you can order and pay for this at the bar
